Pinoso's economy is based on agriculture and mining, and it is a prosperous town. The mines produce marble, the town's main economic base, and salt. Fields and groves of olives, almonds, grapes, cherries, apples, peaches, apricots and salad crops (to name a few) provide abundant harvest in wine, olive oil and raw produce.
Pinoso has widely invested in the infrastructure of its environment and the area's population of some 7000 people enjoy not only a clean, well-lit and well policed environment, but a very large sports and recreational centre, a cultural centre, a theatre and auditorium, many neighbourhood parks dotted about the town, a medical centre which is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week, friendly and bustling schools, regional parks with picnic and barbecue facilities in stunning surroundings, summer fiestas with parades, street stalls, music, dining and dancing, loads of bars, cafes, restaurants and discos, a thriving market every Sunday complete with indoor bar.
Pinoso is well placed being 40 minutes from Alicante with its supurb, half-empty beaches and stylish shops, and 45 minutes from Murcia, a beautiful old city set alongside a lovely river. Motorways are very close by and take you to Granada, Madrid, Valencia and the rest of Spain.
